I am a firm believer that to beat the Battle of Negativity and Complaint, Christians need a good dose of Giving Thanks all year round.  It is easy to move quickly into the areas of Worry, Depression and Criticism when we stop counting our blessings.  But counting our blessings is so cliche' these days...so I'd like to challenge you to go one step further: as you count your blessings, think about why you're counting each one and offer up to God a renewed sense of Faith and Dedication to Him.

After all, He's been so good to you all this time, shouldn't we offer our praises back to Him?

Christmas Presents & Devotionals

There's now a handful of student homes that are using my personal story for their family devotions.  It's interesting to have the young people on campus taking an up close and personal look at what the Lord has done in me.  It's become more and more difficult, the longer I work at MHS, to tell my story in a fresh way.  I am grateful that Faith's Pursuit is doing that for me--especially for so many of the teenage girls at our school.

Conquering Your Destiny Conference - the Power of Perseverance

I am honored to have been asked by the Milton Hershey School to participate in this year's Conquering Your Destiny Conference.  I have to admit, that I don't feel that I am on the same level as many of the other participants in the way of public speaking.  I am proud, however, to admit that, like many who will share that day, that I have been through trials and the Lord saw fit to complete His work in me in various areas of my life!  Hallelujah!

If you are interested in attending the one-day conference it will take place on Saturday, October 17, 2009 from 9am-3pm.  Lunch is provided and the event is free!  We will hold the conference this year at Founders Hall in Hershey, PA.

My First Book Sale/Signing!

I had the opportunity to speak at a Faith-Based Roundtable Discussion centered on the theme: Conquer Your Destiny.  The event was held at the Founders Hall Auditorium on the campus of Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA.  Vera Cornish and her associates sponsored the event. http://www.cornishandassociates.com/index.php

I shared my early childhood journey with it's many hardships.  Then I mentioned how I came to be enrolled at the Milton Hershey School.  I set up a book sale table during lunch and many perused my table.  I signed a number of books and sold 8 (hey, it's a start!)

I was happy for the exposure and for making my first contacts with others about my book!  Thanks for the prayers and support from many of you who prayed!
